Why PSA TEC 2026 Was Worth Every Moment

The PSA TEC Fellowship Program offers an all-expenses-paid opportunity for next-generation leaders from PSA owner and member companies to attend TEC. This year, five fellows attended TEC 2026 in Denver, Colorado.
PSA TEC was awesome! I expected nothing less from the PSA team. I think the breakout sessions stood out to me the most. I attended a handful that I thought were truly fantastic, especially the leadership-focused sessions that were interactive and encouraged group involvement. I originally thought I was going to dislike that format, but I actually enjoyed it a lot.
After one of the people leadership sessions, I had a conversation with another attendee who was an HR leader within her company. I mentioned that I didn’t really consider myself a leader within my organization because I don’t have direct reports. She completely changed my mindset on that by explaining that leadership is not defined by whether or not you manage people. If you own an area of expertise within your company and people turn to you for guidance, then you are a leader. That perspective really stuck with me, and I appreciated that conversation so much.
The keynote during breakfast on Thursday was also awesome! He was entertaining while still delivering a fantastic message. Overall, I did my best to attend most of the networking events, minus the Pub & Play since that was a little late for me. I really tried to put myself out there and get the most out of the networking opportunities and sessions.
Overall, I feel like I got everything out of the fellowship that I possibly could. I presented twice, enjoyed the breakout sessions, networking and everything in between. I thought the venue was awesome, the food was great and the entire experience was incredibly worthwhile. I am so appreciative and would encourage anyone to apply. If accepted, it is a great opportunity to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. The experience did a lot for my confidence!
