PSA@ISC EDUCATION RECAP
Eight PSA@ISC education sessions were led by members of the PSA executive team, PSA committees and PSA Network industry experts. The sessions covered topics from the future of security integration to re-engaging technicians and technical teams. New this year at ISC West, PSA gifted speaker coins to those who joined us for our education track as a symbol for both their commitment to educating our industry and PSA's gratitude for their partnership. The View from the Boardroom: What’s Ahead for Security Integration
To open PSA@ISC education this year, PSA’s Matt Barnette moderated a panel with Wayne Smith, Christine Lanning, Alaina Meyer and Trevor Stewart for the session, The View from the Boardroom: What’s Ahead for Security Integration. During this executive-level session, panelists discussed how companies are remaining competitive and resilient in the face of rapid transformation in the industry. The panel shared a glimpse into how Boards evaluate trends, support organizational transitions and adapt long-term goals with evolving market dynamics.
Security Automation for Cyber-Hardened Facilities
Moderated by PSA’s Brittany Board, panelists Wayne Dorris, Jim Cooper, Min Kyriannis and Gary Hoffner shared their insights on how automation is increasingly becoming a key role in reducing risk and improving efficiency across cyber-physical environments. Through real-world scenarios and applications, the panelists evaluated the feasibility and impact of automation opportunities from how to overcome implementation hurdles to operational strategy, leaving attendees with the tools to think critically about how to cyber-harden facilities.
Recurring Revenue Reboot: Making the Shift from Projects to Programs
Matt Barnette joined panelists James Clark, Tim McHugh and Mike Hanlon for a discussion on how organizations are transitioning from one-off projects to subscription-based services and managed offerings. The session explored practical ways to evolve internal processes, train teams and position value to support long-term contracts and stronger customer retention. Attendees left with actionable strategies to rethink delivery models and build scalable service offerings designed for sustained growth.
Beyond the Backlog: Forecasting, Staffing & Scaling for Operational Success
Featuring panelists Christine Lanning and Chris Hugman, PSA’s Brooke Erickson moderated the session, Beyond the Backlog: Forecasting, Staffing & Scaling for Operational Success, which explored how high-performing integration firms are using forecasting tools, capacity planning and cross-training to scale operations effectively without sacrificing customer experience. The panel discussed ways to identify bottlenecks, align staffing to demand and create sustainable workflows that adapt to business growth.
Building a Security Business that Endures Market Shifts
Led by Matt Barnette, panelists Dan Rothrock, Wayne Smith and Eric Bledsoe discussed how to build resilient security businesses amid economic uncertainty during this PSA education session. The panel explored how to identify vulnerabilities, prioritize critical services and adopt flexible strategies that support sustainable growth. Attendees gained practical insights on diversifying revenue, strengthening relationships and empowering teams to stay agile while positioning their organizations for long-term success.
Dual-Thinking Leaders: Mastering Tactical Precision and Strategic Foresight
During this session, Brooke Erickson, Candice Aragon and Shaun Castillo explored the power of dual-thinking leadership, exploring how to balance tactical execution with strategic vision. The session highlighted how leaders can leverage both analytical and intuitive thinking to make smarter decisions, lead teams effectively and navigate complexity, leaving attendees with practical tools to strengthen their leadership approach and communicate value across both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.

Advocate or Advisor? Mentorship vs. Sponsorship in Action
Brooke Erickson, Elliott Gabriel and Candice Aragon hosted a thoughtful discussion on the distinct roles of mentorship and sponsorship in career growth. The session explored how organizations can design impactful programs while offering practical strategies for professionals to clarify goals, build strong networks and incorporate both advisors and advocates to accelerate advancement.
Re-engaging the Front Lines: Supporting Security Technicians and Technical Teams
To close out PSA@ISC education, panelists Delilah Palacios, Tia Eskandari, Karina Izaguirre and Candice Aragon led a discussion on strengthening engagement among security technicians and frontline teams. The session focused on building a culture of trust, recognition and support while sharing practical strategies to improve communication, foster connection and adapt leadership approaches to meet the evolving needs of today’s workforce.
