As the Instructional Design and Media Manager at The Cook & Boardman Group, Gabrielle “Gabi” Pike spends her days at the intersection of people, process and technology. She designs learning experiences that don’t just inform but transform how teams work.

Her work spans instructor-led courses, microlearning, job aids and video, all with a singular focus: turning complex, often undocumented “institutional knowledge” into clear, scalable learning that drives real performance. Beyond content creation, Gabi plays a key role in stakeholder alignment, project planning and governance, ensuring every learning initiative is accessible, usable and tied directly to business outcomes.

Gabi’s path into the security industry was shaped by close collaboration with field teams and a growing awareness of how powerful strong enablement and communication can be in technical environments. One of the biggest turning points in her career came when she shifted from being an “order taker” to a strategic partner.

“Moving from ‘build a training’ to ‘solve the business problem’ changed everything,” said Gabi. “Once I started tying learning to adoption, consistency and operational results, the work became far more meaningful.”

Early in her career, Gabi tried to meet every request through sheer effort. Over time, she learned the value of governance, clear intake processes, aligned outcomes, defined roles and quality checkpoints to protect both quality and scalability.

Gabi credits several mentors with influencing her development, including Cook & Boardman’s Maggie Mitchell, Nicole Casa and Lou Andruzzi and ASSA ABLOY’s Heidi Pascale. Each helped her think beyond deliverables and focus on outcomes, shaping how she prioritizes, communicates and designs solutions.

That emphasis on growth and collaboration is also what drew Gabi to PSA Committees, where she currently serves on the Women’s Committee and the Next Generation Leadership Committee.

“I wanted to contribute, not just consume,” said Gabi. “PSA Committees are one of the few places where you can learn from industry peers who understand real challenges and share what’s actually working.”

For Gabi, the value of committee participation lies in the combination of peer connection and practical takeaways. Committee conversations often spark ideas she can immediately apply at work from manager toolkits to consistent internal messaging strategies.

“I treat committee learning like a pilot engine,” said Gabi. “I listen for patterns, capture what’s transferable and test small improvements quickly.”

One outcome of those conversations has been stronger communication and governance around learning rollouts, including standardized expectations and repeatable launch playbooks. The result: clearer processes, faster delivery and a better learner experience.

As the industry continues to evolve, Gabi is excited to keep scaling knowledge in ways that support field teams and improve customer outcomes.

Through PSA, she looks forward to continuing to share insights, collaborate with peers and contribute to resources that strengthen leadership development and knowledge sharing across the industry.
