Committee Member Spotlight: Chris Peckham

“I am looking forward to learning more about how each committee member supports their company’s cybersecurity and building upon that so we can share information with the membership at large. These findings can serve as the basis of a playbook and additional best practices or recommendations from the PSA Cybersecurity Committee.”

Chris Peckham, COO, Ollivier Corporation

Cybersecurity Committee Chair

With a career that has spanned many fields including operations, engineering and cybersecurity leadership, Chris Peckham brings a wealth of experience to the PSA Cybersecurity Committee. He holds a Ph.D., M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, an MBA from Rutgers University and multiple professional certifications including CISSP, CPP and SICC.

“Engineering provided a foundation for problem solving and being able to understand how pieces of a puzzle fit together,” said Chris. “Those skills can be applied to operations as well as cybersecurity.”

That holistic mindset continues to guide his work today, connecting technical rigor with business outcomes.

He first got involved with PSA through industry veteran Jim Henry of Henry Bros. Electronics, a big supporter of PSA. Chris joined his first PSA Committee several years ago and has stayed engaged with committees ever since.

Now serving as PSA Cybersecurity Committee Chair, Chris is focused on harnessing the group’s collective expertise to elevate cybersecurity readiness across their companies and The PSA Network.

“There is such a wealth of experience from the members of the committee, and I would like to harness that experience for the benefit of the committee and membership,” said Chris. “What can we learn from one another to better our organizations and through that, what is offered to our customers? These findings can serve as the basis of a playbook and additional best practices or recommendations from the committee.”

Chris notes that AI-driven cyberattacks, supply chain vulnerabilities and the growing use of software bills of materials (SBOMs) are key areas where integrators need to stay informed, and where the committee can help educate members. When it comes to helping executives grasp the business impact of cyber risk, Chris takes a pragmatic approach.

“It comes to how the business can understand the potential financial loss, disruption to the business and compliance concerns,” said Chris. “When an event occurs, is the organization ready?”

He encourages leaders to view cybersecurity through a cost-benefit lens to align technical and operational priorities.

When asked his top recommendation for integrators in the next six months, Chris encourages integrators to select a cyber framework that fits their organization and implement it. He acknowledges it will take some effort, but what is learned as well as gained from the experience for the business will make it worth it.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys a mix of technology and adventure. He rides his Yamaha V-Star when he can and enjoys working with various embedded systems and IoT devices as well as scripting languages.
