PSA Convention 2016 marked a milestone for PSA with the highest number of overall attendees and the most number of owner companies in attendance in recorded history. Thank you to all who played a part in making this year such a great success!

We were proud to offer a top notch lineup of presenters focused on providing integrators direction on how to grow and protect their companies now and in the future. Michael Barnes, Founding Partner of Barnes Associates talked to us about recurring revenue in the security market; where it’s been, where it’s going, and why it is important.

A panel of legal and financial experts discussed the financial avenues available and the hurdles to prepare for as you develop your own RMR plan. Hugh Van der Veer, Attorney/Co-Chair of the Security Alarm Group, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney moderated the panel which allowed experts Mark Melendes, Managing Director and Group Head of The PrivateBank and Trust CompanySaam Parsa, Director of Security Finance for Capital One, and Bill Polk, Managing Partner at Egis Capital Partners to weigh in on three different scenarios regarding future funding for each example company.

Patrick Barry, CEO and Co-Founder of BluBØX Security Inc. shared a business plan and specifics about how to put a proven, successful RMR plan into play.

Attendees also heard from Tom Hruby, Executive Vice President of Security Equipment, Inc. (SEI)Rob Simopoulos, President of Advance Technology, and Robert (Bob) Vezina, President of Life Safety about how they have grown and continue to develop successful RMR models as PSA owners.

Closing out the education session at Convention, Andrew Lanning, Co-Founder of Integrated Security Technologies and Chairman of PSA Cybersecurity Committee along with Wayne Smith, President, Tech Systems and Vice-Chair of PSA Cybersecurity Committee, provided tools and resources from the PSA Cybersecurity Committee designed to help integrators protect their companies and your clients from the ever growing threat of cyber-attacks. Read Andrew’s session recap here.

This year, we also announced several new programs that will serve to continue the success of PSA Security Network and our integrators. PSA Security Network will be expanding into the audio visual market, leading an industry metrics program for PSA integrators, and developing an all new education portal which will host training materials for integrators and be a home-base for tracking certifications and keeping employees up to speed with industry trends.

In addition, the following companies were honored as top performers from Fiscal Year 2016 at the annual President’s Award Banquet.  Congratulations to all of these outstanding PSA integrators!
